Campers carry on a favorite Oasis Day Camp pastime, tug-of-war.

Oasis Day Camp is dedicated to a community-oriented, holistic approach to youth development, collaborating with schools, youth-service organizations, and public agencies to create summer camps and summer enrichment programs for children. The camp staff fosters an environment in which arts, athletics, and enrichment activities are used to teach life skills and create memorable experiences.

In 2013, Oasis Day Camp will add Brooklyn Bridge Park to its list of New York City venues. St. Francis College, only two blocks away, will serve as an indoor facility so the campers will have endless opportunities for indoor and outdoor activity, including sports, theater, and swimming. The new camp will be available to children ages 4-11. “We are so excited because Brooklyn is home for us,” says owner Bernie Tessler.

Oasis offers two different types of summer camps, a traditional summer day camp program for children ages 4-11 and a program called Teen Travel, which is designed for ages 12-14. Daily activities are centered on art, outdoor education, sports, and team building. Children are grouped by age and activities are tailored appropriately.

Oasis Day Camp’s 2013 session runs from July 1-Aug. 9—online registration is open until June 24. Camp hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday, and lunch and transportation will be provided for campers. For an additional fee, you can sign up for early drop-off service, 8-8:30am, or late pick-up service, 5:30-6pm.
