Art Studio Now Offers Classes For Kids With Special Needs

Picasso Kidz is now offering art classes for children with special needs. “Extraordinary Picasso” classes are taught by NYS certified art teachers who have also been trained by Missing Piece Awareness to cater to the needs of these children.

Mommy and Me classes are offered for kids ages 2-4 Additional classes are offered for kids 5 and older. Classes are kept small and a caregiver must be present with the child. Therapists such as behavioral or occupational therapists are also encouraged to attend to help children achieve their specific goals.

Curriculum is tailored to meet the group’s particular needs and goals, and expose kids to all elements of art, according to owner Michelle Daddino. Sheand her staff aim to “provide kids with an opportunity to participate in an art program without it being a stressful environment.”

Picasso Kidz also offers a number of other art classes for children ages 2 and older, as well as one-day programs, birthday parties, and art camps during the summer.
