Queens Dance Project, a dance and fitness studio in Queens, is adding a new program and two classes to its lineup: School’s Out Camp, Mommy and Me, and Dynamic Dancers.

These programs are designed to help parents schedule their children’s free time effectively, build bonds between children and their parents, and give parents some personal time.

The School’s Out Camp is a day camp for school children that coincides with New York City school holidays, starting with Rosh Hashanah Sept. 25-26. The camp will allow participants to spend their school holidays doing arts and crafts, playing games, and dancing in an organized and supervised environment. School’s Out Camp is $30 per child per day.

Mommy and Me is a once-a-week class for children ages 6 months to 2 years and their parents. This course divided into six-week sessions that facilitate interaction between children and their parents through song, dance, and play. Mommy and Me is $180 per six-week session.

Dynamic Dancers is a class for 2- to 3-year-olds that teaches beginning dancers how to move with fun activities, including using Hula-Hoops and playing instruments. Held every Monday and Wednesday from 10:30am-12pm, the class costs $450 for a four-month session. The classes are drop-off, meaning parents can trust their children are in a safe place while they take time to run errands or relax.

And the best part: Parents and children can try any of these courses for free. “We offer a free trial class. There’s no charge, no commitment,” says studio owner Jennifer Alvardo.
