Quotables March 13-19: Green with Envy

Join us on Fridays for Quotables, everything that caught our eye this week on the web. This week, we appreciate everything green—from St. Patrick’s Day to slime, with springtime buds poking up their brave little heads!

“Motherhood isn’t always the safest, quietest, prettiest job out there, but my three kids are better than any pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Which makes me the luckiest gal in the world.”
Lisa Sadikman in 5 Ways St. Patrick’s Day Prepared Me for Motherhood on Scary Mommy

 Irish eyes are smiling :)

Irish mouths smiling, too!

This little one is home sick from school today…but insisted on wearing green pajamas and sleeping under a green blanket. “Even though I’m sick Mommy I can still celebrate St.Patrick’s Day…I just won’t eat anything or I’ll throw up” #Parenting #Family #Daughter #Love

What a good sport.

This leprechaun had fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!

Did he find a pot of gold?

Charlie was so excited to wear green from head to toe today because it’s his favorite color. Even his sneakers have green on them, and he wore a green jacket and backpack! I had to dig deep into Olive’s closet this morning to find something green though. Luckily I found this old sweater that still fit – I guess I don’t buy her green clothes! She does have gold sneakers though. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Such stylish sibilings.

My 4 y.o. is crying because I am warming up frozen peas for him.

Green foods can be scary!

“Pull slime out of the bowl, watch it ooze, touch your kids with it, listen to them squeal, hand over the bowl, let them make a huge mess, realize this mess isn’t as easy to clean up as you imagined, freak out when one kid gets a huge gob on your shirt, run to the sink, make the shirt situation worse, run back over to the group, listen as their laughter turns into genuine terror, try to contain the slime, FAIL.”
—New York City mother and blogger Mommy Shorts on The Greenest Slimiest Playdate Ever, which includes instructions for Glow-in-the-Dark Slime, recipes for Sour Slimed Cupcakes and Lime Slime Mocktails, and adorable pictures of kids making a green mess

What’s better than making a mess? Making a green one.

Hopefully these little green shoots don’t get buried in snow today!
