Celebrate the New Year at this two-day event by doing hands-on arts and crafts activities such as paper cutting, dough figurines, and calligraphy in the lobby, followed by a 70-minutes mainstage performance. The performances include traditional Chinese sword, ribbon, folk dance, and Peking Opera featuring the living Peking Opera legend, Qi Shu-fang; as well the modern Chinese rock band, Hsu-nami, known for its daring integration of the rock sound with the Chinese classical music instrument: Erhu. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast! But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament. The performance runs for one hour and is followed by a meet-and-greet with the cast.

92Y is now the home of Baby Got Bach, a series curated by pianist Orli Shaham, who is joined by friends and members of 92Y School of Music. Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam - XL Center

Eight trucks roar into the XL Center with the first-ever appearances by Son-UVA Digger, Iron Man and Monster Mutt Rottweiler. Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.

Words That Paint - Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA)

WORDS THAT PAINT: THE HUDSON VALLEY SCHOOL IN POETRY AND PROSE HVCCA's exhibition "PEEKSKILL PROJECT V: The New Hudson River School," provides the setting for this unique night of short plays and poems inspired by art from the exhibition. "Words that Paint: The Hudson River School in Poetry and Prose" is a collaborative art experience presented by HVCCA and Director Mara Mills. Writers from throughout the region were invited to visit the exhibition, and then submit short plays or poems inspired by works of art. The resulting works were juried and assembled into this theatrical performance. HVCCA provides the backdrop, performed by professional actors in full view of the artwork that inspired the words. The audience will move through the space as the narrative unfolds, adding a dynamic component. "Words that Paint…" will debut in the evening on Thursday, February 14th at 7pm. There will be three additional performances: matinees on Saturday, February 16th at 2pm and 4pm; Sunday, February 17th at 2pm. The event will last approximately one-and-a-half hours. Jake Talks - Rockland World Radio

The JCC is seeking local teens for its weekly internet radio show, Jake Talks. Students will cover news and "hot topics" while having fun and learning the ins and outs of radio broadcasting. The show airs live each Monday at 5pm. Hear the show at rocklandworldradio.com. Listeners can call in to share their views by dialing 845-353-2910. Jazz for Kids - Jazz Standard
Through May 26, 2013 - Gramercy

The Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra (JSYO), which includes about 25 talented musicians between the ages of 11 and 18, burns through jazz classics while listeners enjoys Blue Smoke's brunch menu (lunch menu, kids menu, and full bar are also available). Jazz Standard donates $1 from each kid's menu item sold to Spoons Across America.
