Pirate Pete's Parrot - The Little Secret Theatre
January 19, 2013 - Long Island City

Climb on board and get ready for adventure in this new children's musical. The play revolves around Pirate Pete, a lovable rogue on a mission to find his beloved runaway parrot, Polly, who prefers pancakes to boring old birdseed.

Hoot 'n Annie - Long Island Children's Museum
January 23, 2013 - Garden City

Hoot 'n Annie have delighted audiences around the world with their mix of traditional American music, folk songs, and humor. They are multi-instrumentalists and vocalists, who play 17 of America's wackiest and weirdest instruments, many at the same time. Settle in and enjoy performances including the washboard, nose flute, slide-whistle, washtub bass, and musical saw.

The Daycare Theatre Series: Little Red Riding Hood - Black Spectrum Theatre
January 24, 2013 - Jamaica

Theatre just for the little ones. Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Join Little Red on her adventure as she journeys to grandma's house with her basket of goodies.

Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam - Nassau Coliseum
January 25, 2013 - Uniondale

The event will feature some of the most powerful monster trucks on the circuit, including the legendary Grave Digger, Monster Mutt, Advanced Auto Parts Grinder, El Toro Loco, Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit, Aftershock and more. This four-wheeled extravaganza features heart-pounding racing and unbelievable freestyle driving. Standing at 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air. The Party in the Pits gives fans the opportunity to view the trucks up close and meet the drivers of the massive monster trucks.

Join Thomas and Driver Sam on a fun-filled, sing-along, mini-performance adventure by helping Thomas find his way from Knapford Station to Brendam Docks using teamwork, friendship, and discovery. Parents: bring your camera for a photo op with Thomas to capture the special day. Daily, Jan. 1-27.
