Betty Aboff, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSHH, brings more than 25 years of experience as a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist to MKSA LLC, a speech-development clinic that services Long Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. MKSA primarily specializes in early-intervention for speech delays and deficits, and offers at-home, school, and day care services.

Aboff will spearhead speech supervision for Brooklyn and Queens. She focuses on children ages newborn to 5 years. Catching speech delay deficits at an early age is so important because children’s brains are the most pliable, Aboff explains. “The earlier the better” in order to “give the child that extra push, extra stimulation to get them going,” she adds.

Equally important to a child’s development is parent involvement, which is why the therapists at MKSA focus on parent education, so “they can be empowered to make a difference in their children’s lives,” Aboff says. MKSA takes a team approach to the relationship between therapists and parents helping children “reach their maximum potential,” she says.

MKSA handpicks therapists when matching them with patients and families. “Personality plays a big part when you’re sending someone into people’s homes,” Aboff says, and “this is one thing that really sets us apart.” Bilingual services are available for families where English is not the dominant language. MKSA’s goal in providing bilingual services is to offer more comprehensive evaluations and treatments for children, as well as to communicate clearly with parents regarding children’s needs and development.
