Sugar Mama by Kim’s Bakeshop Adds Classes, Camp, and Doughnuts

The full-service bakery in Larchmont has added classes and camp for children, plus gourmet doughnuts.

Sugar Mama by Kim’s Bakeshop
is a full-service bakery known for its decorative sugar cookies and—since about six months ago—its doughnuts. “Our filled doughnut is this jelly doughnut, which has been a huge, huge success—people love it,” says Kimberly Conca, owner and lead cookie artist. Other popular flavors include a doughnut topped with Fruity Pebbles cereal as well as a cookies and cream concoction.

The bakeshop recently added classes and summer camp for children ages 5 and older. The cookie and cake decorating classes were added after high demand, and adult classes will be coming soon, Conca says. “Everyone will learn different skills and techniques and leave with a finished product,” she adds.

In summer baking camp, children will be taught how to bake different treats such as sugar cookies, cake pops, cupcakes, and more. “Each day children will bring home something delicious that they created themselves,” Conca says. The camp will be held in three-day sessions between July 11-Aug. 15. In addition to making sweet treats, children will also be introduced to various kitchen skills as well as important kitchen safety information.

In addition to doughnuts, Sugar Mama by Kim’s Bakeshop serves a number of treats, including sugar cookies, cakes, cake pops, macarons, and cupcakes, all of which can be delivered locally. With appropriate lead time (Conca suggests at least two weeks), the bakery’s custom sugar cookies can be shipped anywhere. Customers can choose whatever design or shape they wish and collaborate on any theme to customize their order.
