Learning Center in Port Washington Expands Curriculum

Lisa and Wayne Ng, husband-and-wife co-owners of the new Sylvan Learning Center in Port Washington, which opened on Jan. 2, are expanding the traditional Sylvan tutoring programs to include a new enrichment program. “In the past when people look at Sylvan, they look at it as a place where people go when they are struggling,” Mr. Ng says, “we’re trying to change that mindset, and show families that we’re not only a place where children come when they’re struggling, they’re coming here for enrichment as well.”

Sylvan recently launched its new EDGE program, which includes robotics, coding, engineering, study skills, and early reading and math. Sylvan Edge is primarily for students in grades 1-6.
