Nursery School in Greenwich Will Offer Extended Hours

Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School, in Greenwich, will be offering extended hours and additional day options for the 2016-2017 school year. Beginning September 2016, the school will offer two, three, four, or five-day options for 2-year-olds, as well longer hours for the entire nursery.

For children ages 2-4, the school also offers an exciting assortment of enrichment classes that focus on a particular subject area such as language development, sports, creative play, cooking, drama, art, and music.

“We take great pride in offering unique after-school enrichment programs that encourages children to use their senses, skills, and imaginations,” says Phyllis Lyons, school director.

Program highlights include a ‘Mad Scientist Program’, an interactive class where students learn and experiment with minerals, air, weather, color, sound & sight, the solar system, and observe a rocket launch. They will also get to make take-home projects each week and see just how fun science can be! In ‘Cooking Through The Alphabet,’ children will experience the simple joy of preparing their own food via fun cooking projects which focus on a different letter of the alphabet each week. At the end of the semester, each child will take home a cookbook filled with a collection of recipes they’ve made. ‘Spanish Club— LiteraKid’ teaches children Spanish through different forms of interactive techniques such as music, action songs, physical activity, and games.
