Top Tweets of the Week (February 27, 2012)

Let us borrow a phrase from a mom who always knows when we need a confidence boost: morning, gorgeous people!  Every Monday from now on we’ll be gathering a round-up of the best tweets from the week before. We’ll include tweets that made us laugh, tweets that made us think, and tweets that made us realize you really never know what’s going to come out of a five year old’s mouth next. Let’s make it happen.

As usual, Ilana has no interest in sugarcoating motherhood. We respect that in a mom.

Books! They exist!

Health is important. Peanut Butter Pie may be even more important.

Completely reasonable aspirations. We approve.

Did we mention working here is really, really fun(ny)?

7-year-old self-confidence is something we sorely miss.

Sometimes kids say hilarious things; sometimes kids say deeply profound things that encourage us to view the world in a way the adult mind would never frame it. (PS, this tweet falls under the latter category.)

IOHO, if that’s old age, why would anyone ever choose to be young?

And finally, in case you were trying that whole “relaxed” parenting approach, wherein you don’t stress yourself out on an hourly basis…allow our editorial director to give you a panic attack because time is always slipping away and basically your child is a grown up who has left home already! Join us on Mondays for more Top Tweets. In the meantime, follow us @NYMetroParents for practical parenting advice, local events in the NY Metro area, exclusive deals and discounts, and occasionally hilarious staff banter. If you want us to consider your tweet for next week, tag it #nymptt; if you see a tweet that deserves a mention let us know.
