Top Tweets of the Week (March 11, 2013)

Good afternoon, sunshine! What, there’s no sun out today? Sigh, I know. Don’t remind me. Let a girl pretend, ya know? We had a great week though, so instead of dwelling on the chilly cloudy day let’s look back and celebrate all the fun that happened on Twitter this week!

Did you celebrate International Women’s Day? We’ve come a long way but we’ve still got a long way to go. Teach your daughter about important women in history and remind her that she can become one, too!

Who doesn’t love a good book? We loved seeing our twitter feed blow up with reading feelings on World Read Aloud Day.

This is the stuff dreams are made of — seriously!

This is so sweet and inspiring…we only hope your daughter got better quickly!

NYTimes bestseller and speaker on disability Rachel Simon offered a lot of great advice during a Grand Central Pub twitter chat last week. We think it’s a must-read for all parents of kids with special needs, and you should consider checking out #GCPchat in the future — a great new find on Twitter!

Don’t mind if we do! Children’s books are the best way to learn.

And now, moving on to food…to begin, we are very envious that Shake Shack isn’t in our neighborhood! We’d be there right now, obviously.

Melt Shop is simply divine. We also oddly adore the grilled cheese sandwiches sold at Think Coffee…an unexpected find but delicious nonetheless! Where do you buy your favorite melty gooey amazing cheesy sandwich?

Pesach certainly does fall early this year…can it be, mitzvah fatigue in early March? What an odd calendar year!

And along with an early Pesach comes an early Easter, too! Peeps feels like a very polarizing snack. You either love ’em or you hate ’em…how do y’all feel?

Can you believe the snow melted over the weekend? It’s like it took “Daylight Saving Time” literally and figured it should let us spring forward with some sunny weather, right?! This video makes me miss it a teeny tiny bit…though I’m more than ready for Spring!

To conclude, we hope you’ll share in our excitement that this very blog won an award at the PMA ceremony in Atlanta this past weekend! We’ve been blogging for just over a year so the fact that we were recognized is a source of much excitement — and of course as always, we’re honored to be recognized for all aspects of our brand and hope we can continue serving you well in the coming years — that’s what we’re here for and that’s all we want to do! With that, let’s take a hearty leap into March as we spring forward, hopefully toward more good books, more yummy food, and more good weather in our future! Join us on Mondays for more Top Tweets. In the meantime, follow us @NYMetroParents for practical parenting advice, local events in the NY Metro area, exclusive deals and discounts, and occasionally hilarious staff banter.
