Day Care Center in Roslyn to Launch Summer Program

Trinity Episcopal Church Roslyn Childcare Center is launching a summer program for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

The summer program will start on June 26 and last 10 weeks. The program will include water play, science adventures, and opportunities to learn about the solar system, oceans, and plants. There will also be tie-dyeing, mud painting, and “a lot of ice cream,” says director Marie Catalano. Registration is currently open and flexible scheduling is available.

“We promote positive ways to support children’s social and emotional health. We get to know each child individually, which allows us to tailor goals that can lead to confidence and a healthy self-esteem,” Catalano says.

The Trinity Episcopal Church Roslyn Childcare Center opened in November 2016 and offers year-round day care Monday-Friday from 7:30am-6pm. Extended hours as well as full and half-day options are available. The secular program is open to all faiths and currently accepting new children.

“Each day we [aim to] advance a child’s physical and intellectual competence. We do this primarily through play, which is how most children learn. Our curriculum teaches art, music, math, science, and at this age, most importantly, emergent literacy. We concentrate on language development; listening skills, speaking, reading, and writing,” Catalano says. “Our lead teachers each have Masters in Early Childhood Education and our lead Infant Caregivers are CDA [Child Development Associate] trained.”
