DELISH SNACKS AT DUANE READE

"Delish" is probably not the first thought that comes to mind when describing a drug store. But, now that Duane Reade has introduced a new line of healthy and high quality snack foods and beverages, the company hopes to change exactly that. Over 25 new products have come to the tristate drugstore under the name Delish TM. Among the zero trans fat, vegan, kosher, organic, and gluten-free products are trans fat free soy snacks, cholesterol-free all natural baked potato crisps, vitamin enriched teas, and 100 percent juices.

The Delish TM products will be priced competitively with many other national brands. Joe Magnacca, Chief Merchandising Officer, commented, "They are priced like any national brand, but have the added health benefits."  The products will periodically be on sale as well.

Because the DelishTM brand is a smarter and healthier option, it is an easy and guilt-free way of indulging your kids' desire for snack foods. At first I figured that because the products are deemed "healthy," they would not taste as great. But while devouring a bag of Delish Barbecued Baked Potato Crisps, I found out for myself that the healthier product does not sacrifice flavor.

For a family on the go, many of the products are "lunchbox" size and convenient for weekend outings to the park.  The larger gallon-sized teas and 64-ounce juices are perfect to enjoy at home and come in individual sizes that can be toted to the office.

With the product line set to expand in November, there will soon be over 100 items on shelves in Duane Reade stores. The DelishTM line will boast four unique blends of 100 percent arabica coffee named after different areas in New York. The public can also look forward to completely organic lemonade and other sparkling beverages. Those who are lucky will be able to find Delish sandwiches and yogurts in their newly redesigned stores.
