Relationship expert Laurie PuhnLaurie Puhn's new book, Fight Less, Love More: 5-Minute Conversations to Change Your Relationship without Blowing Up or Giving In
out this month

Every woman who is has ever been in a relationship knows how communication with her partner can be one of the biggest obstacles to a satisfying relationship. It's the classic case of he said, she said and somewhere along the line, misunderstandings arise and arguments ensue. Between the stresses of life and all the responsibilities of parenthood, communication starts to spiral downward and couples are left wondering, where did it all go wrong?

In her new book, to be released on October 12, Fight Less, Love More: 5-Minute Conversations  to Change Your Relationship without Blowing Up or Giving In (Rodale), couples expert Laurie Puhn explains the simple strategies that can immediately improve your communication and the quality of your relationship. A Harvard-trained lawyer and family and divorce mediator, Puhn is also a married mom and runs a private practice in couples mediation in New York City.

Puhn says that love is conditional, and in order for couples to be successful, it's quality over quantity when it comes to communication. She shows readers how to identify their negative patterns and emotional rationalizations, and replace them with healthier, more constructive ways to communicate better and ultimately improve their relationships. Her approach is simple, giving readers exercises, examples, even sample scripts to use every day and when conflict arises.

Fight Less, Love MoreFight Less, Love More has already received praise from such experts as John Gray (Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus), Gary Chapman (The Five Love Languages), and Rachel Greenwald (Have Him at Hello and Find a Husband After 35). A regular contributor for various media outlets, Puhn has recently appeared on The Nate Berkus Show, and contributed articles to Redbook, Shape, and iVillage.com.
