Tibet House US has announced an exciting new multimedia art exhibit, Sacred Vision, Separate Views: Contemporary Perspectives in Buddhist Art, which will run December 6, 2012, through February 1, 2013. For the first time, the Tibet House US will present paintings, drawings, videos, sculptures, installations and live performance art, as six New York City-based artists present modern takes on Buddhist traditions and teachings. Artists James Walton Fox, Valley Burke Fox, Shigeru Oyatani, E. Elizabeth Peters, Wesley Simon, and Jayoung Yoon approach their spiritual journeys through multiple mediums that come together to represent confluence, compromise or conflict in the journey toward enlightenment. A portion of all sales will benefit Tibet House US and its ongoing work to preserve and present Tibetan culture. ABOUT TIBET HOUSE US: Tibet House US, established in 1987 at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy working to preserve, restore and present Tibet's unique cultural and spiritual heritage by means of a permanent cultural center, with a 2,000-square-foot gallery, library, archives, developing traveling exhibitions, print publications and media productions.

A New Jersey native, Nick Stefanacci is an elementary / high school band director by day and fierce recording artist by night. Heavily influenced by The Beatles, David Sanborn, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder, Nick teamed up with vocalist Kenny Simmons to write select tracks on All For A Reason. For the past 11 years, Nick has also fronted the popular jazz group Jazz Patrol, playing major venues in New York City (including CBGBs, The Bitter End and Birdland), Honolulu, Miami, Atlantic City and beyond. Nick also performed with The Derek Trucks Band and the legendary Motown group The Four Tops, toured as the saxophonist for a preeminent Springsteen cover band, and opened for legendary pop/jazz singer Johnny Mathis.

New York City’s premier school of Argentine Tango is hosting a fantastically unique event. Strictly Tango NYC's exclusive Wine & Tango Sampling is the perfect evening for those intrigued by this elegant and sensuous dance, or for anyone seeking a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Have a taste of tango for the first time with New York City’s only school dedicated strictly to Argentine Tango. Learn about the origins of this passionate dance by tasting the rich flavors of the local wines and sampling traditional Argentinean foods. A special “Taste of Tango” introductory class will be given by Strictly Tango NYC’s Maestro and tango show producer Sergio Segura. Later in the evening, experience a fun side of tango not found anywhere else with tango games, stage tango poses, tango line dancing, and tango demonstrations. Special performances will be given by instructors and students of the school to illuminate the drama of tango at a performance level.
