Allstate Readiness Series: Friends Don't Let Friends Text and Drive - White Plains Public Library

Jacy Good and Steve Johnson, advocates for safe driving, will talk to teens and parents about the dangers of distracted driving. Jacy is the victim of a tragic accident caused by a teen driver on a cell phone, that left her seriously injured and claimed the lives of both of her parents. They will help teens make better decisions for themselves, and give them the tools to influence their friends not to text and drive. They will also make parents aware of why they need to model good driving behavior by putting down their own cell phones when they are behind the wheel. In the auditorium. Car crashes kill hundreds of children each year and injure tens of thousands. Many die unnecessarily because 9 out of 10 kids aren't buckled up correctly and their car seats aren't properly installed. The Greenburgh Police Department will be conducting Child Seat Safety Check events at the Big Dee Volvo Service Center. Certified Technicians will inspect your child's car seat for recalls and expiration dates, and make sure it's installed properly. If you are having difficulty installing the seat yourself, trained technicians will assist you. No appointment is necessary.
