Young Artist Series - Quick Center for the Arts

Jonathan Coombs and Igor Lovchinsky, two prize-winning, Juilliard-trained pianists, present an afternoon of music. Coombs, whom The New Yorker called "soulful and unbuttoned," has played for audiences from Boston Symphony Hall to Ravinia's "Rising Stars Showcase" in Chicago. Russian-born Lovchinsky, a first prize-winner at the Eastman International Piano Competition and the National Chopin Piano Competition, was hailed by Gramophone as a "star of the future."

Listen to Stravinsky, Mendelssohn, Part and Mozart as conducted by Eckart Preu. MusiKids, an interactive education experience for children ages 6–12, takes place before the Sunday concert.

Mini Musicians - South Norwalk Library
February 21, 2013 - South Norwalk

Children age 3-5 are invited to make music. The session includes singing, dancing, musical stories, and jamming with musical instruments. Children will learn basic musical concepts like rhythm, pitch, and tempo, while participating in fun, hands-on games and activities. Directed by Jeremy Quinn with musical direction by Stephen Ferri.
