Harrison Council for the Arts presents Youth Art Month, March 1-31, at the Harrison Municipal Building, Heineman Place, and the Harrison Public Library, Bruce Avenue. This annual exhibit consists of multi-media art reflecting the talents of students in the Harrison schools with works selected by art teachers in the community. Opening reception Sunday, March 3, from 13pm at the Harrison Municipal Building with entertainment at 2:30pm at the Library. The Blue Angel (1930) - Neue Galerie

Neue Galerie presents a series of documentaries and feature films that engage with central themes of the art on display. Family Center’s Spectrum Support Group offers caregivers mutual support by providing opportunities to meet with others also raising children who are dually diagnosed. To be eligible the child must have a primary Mental Health diagnosis and a secondary Spectrum diagnosis. Groups are facilitated by Parent Advocates, each having their own unique experience raising a child under the Spectrum. While caregivers attend group, respite can be provided to children ages 5-17. To receive respite, an intake is required. This ensures staff is familiar with the child, making caregiver’s participation more relaxing. Register by calling Miriam at the number listed.

The Story of An Hour, by Kate Chopin was first published in Vogue on December 6, 1984. The title of Chopin's tale refers to the time that elapses between the moment when the protagonist, Louise Mallard, hears that her husband is dead and the surprise twist that changes the entire tale. Very short, perceptively direct, and completely powerful. Dr. Bill will read each short story, complete with voices and characters, leaving plenty of time for discussion following the reading.
