Preschool storytime, including a craft activity, for ages 4 and 5 without an adult. Literacy connections are made at "Stories & Stuff," where stories are centered around a theme and children listen and interact with corresponding rhymes, songs, and/or finger plays. A final craft project ties in with the topic, fostering a sense that stories are imaginative, yet lasting, and continue to enrich creative thoughts and play. Exhibition: Figure It Out - Clay Art Center
Through March 31, 2012 - Port Chester

A national invitational exhibition featuring functional works inspired by the human form by over 70 clay artists. The works on display will be mostly functionally-based or vessel-oriented, suggestive of or inspired by the human form. The artists were challenged to interpret the theme in a way that best suited their own voice. For instance, the artists could have surface or glaze decoration that incorporates the figure or parts of the body in some way, or they might exaggerate a pot's "human" parts, such as the "foot," "neck," "shoulder," and "body." The gallery will be filled with cups and mugs, plates, platters, bowls, vases, candlesticks, teapots, salt & peppers, vessels, etc. Some will have subtle reference to the human form, others will be more obvious. The exhibit will give viewers the opportunity to view (and take home) works that have the ability to enhance their in-home dining and living experiences. Exhibit runs through March 31.

Teen Comedy Improv Classes - Ossining Public Library - Budarz Theater

Class clowns in grades 6-12 will learn basic short and long-form improvisation techniques and build hilarious scenes based on a single topic. Exhibit: Separation Anxiety - Pelham Art Center

A multi-media exhibition examining the various facets of parenthood. Artists explore the often unacknowledged worry and unease that all parents, traditional or not, must navigate. Through these investigations, cultural anxieties and debates over the definition of family, parenthood, and childhood are explored in surprising and interesting ways. Through March 31.
