If you grew up in Little Italy, this restaurant in Garden City, with its tin roof, white tile and open kitchen - may bring back a few memories. With Frutti di Mare as a house specialty, the menu boasts ultra-traditional Italian dishes. Start with a plate of sample appetizers, which include the Bacala potato cake, fried sardines and stuffed and fried artichoke. If that doesn't fill you up, try the braised short-ribs of the Braciole for an entree, which we serve hot from the oven with tomatoes, olives, capers and wine bubbling away happily.
