Sound Scientist Summer Program: children entering Grades 1-5 will discover the fun side of scientific inquiry in "Sound Scientists," a series of summer programs at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. Plunge into exciting hands-on activities in our private classrooms, cool exhibits and larger-than-life IMAX movies. Activities and topics vary by session, for Grades 1-4 and Grades 4-5. One-week programs run each week from July 6-10 through August 17-21. Times are 9:30am-3:30pm. (Optional pre- and post-care are available.) Cost is $385-$400 per session. Call or visit our website.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Penguins will come out–and so will the smiles–in The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s special “Penguins on the Loose” encounter program, each day promptly at 11:15 a.m. in July and August. The encounter program and the “African Penguins” special exhibit are free with Aquarium admission. Plus, don’t miss the first IMAX movie made just for preschoolers: “Animalopolis” comically enhances the amusing behaviors of kids’ favorite wild animals. For details, go to the website.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Your birthday girl or boy will give their seal of approval to a memorable party at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk! That’s because the guest list includes seals, sharks, sea turtles and other amazing creatures from the Long Island Sound. Parties, which include a guided tour, are offered for ages 4 to 12 on Saturdays and Sundays at 11am and 2:30pm. Cost is $300 ($275 for Aquarium members). Food options are available (sorry, but only cake can be brought in).
