When Darien mother Kate Thornton moved to Darien more than 10 years ago she was always searching for things to do with her children. "I thought if someone could just organize public information in a way that is easy to use it would be helpful to parents," Thornton said. Kate Thornton is a single mother who moved to Darien from Los Angeles, where she was among the creators of Disney Online. The Pratt Institute graduate has a background in graphic design, which helped her create the guide.
