How do I know if my child has ADHD:

In Genearal a child with ADHD may be characterised by difficulties in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:

  • Is easily distracted
  • Is restless and fidgety
  • Often acts without thinking
  • Makes careless errors
  • Often interupts or intrudes on others
  • Has difficulty waiting his/her turn
  • Doesn't seem to listen
  • Has trouble organizing work and completing assignments

Treatments are focused in two areas:

  • Play-groups in which children take part in play-based activities
  • Parent groups focusing on:
    • Parent education about ADHD
    • support
    • discussions about their childrens activities
    • completing daily diaries related to childrens activities
