Babies with their Moms and Dads in our Music Together Babies Class.

Music Makers with drums!

For hundreds of thousands of families worldwide, (and thousands in Queens!), Music Together is children and their grownups sharing joyfully in singing songs, rhymes, movement, and instrument play, both in music class and in their daily lives. As a family in one of our weekly Music Together classes in Astoria, Bayside, Forest Hills, Glendale, Long Island City, Little Neck or Whitestone, you and your child will experience music class as never before. Yes, we are Mommy, Music, and Me, inc., but we are not simply a Mommy and Me Music Class. NOT your typical toddler music class either.  Dads definitely play an important role in our classes with their babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Our Moms and Dads, Grandparents and Caregivers are making music with their children.

Baby music classes or mixed age kids music classes are based on music play and grown-up participation. We all make music and dance to songs, with and without words, in a variety of meters and tonalities that fill your senses. Wiggling, singing, and laughing with your child is so much fun—it’s easy to forget how much learning is taking place! Our research-based curriculum not only develops music skills, it nurtures creativity, self-expression, and confidence while also supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Because these benefits build over time, children enjoy the fullest growth in each of these areas when they participate as consistently as possible from birth through kindergarten. (newborns up to 8 months of age attend free with their registered big brother and/or sister in a mixed age class).  Infants in our baby music classes take in music just as they take in the world. In fact, when given a supportive music environment, children learn to sing and dance as naturally as they learn to walk and talk.

Our fun activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences that are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers to participate in regardless of their own musical ability! Speech language pathologists recommend our classes to their clients.  We welcome special needs music makers and their families. In addition to the fun you will have in class, you will receive two professionally recorded CDs and a beautifully-illustrated songbook so you can continue the music-making fun at home. Families new to Music Together will also receive our “Music Together at Home: Helping Your Child Grow Musically” parent DVD. Music Learning Supports All Learning

The value of our music program is best understood when you schedule your free music class with us and experience it!

In the words of one of our Parents ~”Our family first came to know Wendy & her amazing staff in 2006, with our oldest child’s speech therapist .  In short, it was love at first song.  Not only were we having a great time at every class, but we were amazed at how quickly her speech blossomed....We have since brought two more of our children into the Mommy, Music & Me family.  Our weekly classes are a vital and highly-anticipated part of our schedule.....The theories and research behind how things are run in a Music Together class are well explained to the adult laymen.  Indeed, I have learned a tremendous amount about my children’s development as a result of these classes. Thank you to Wendy, Ginny, and the entire MM&M staff for a wonderful 6+ years!”
