While the debate continues about the future of the Nets in downtown Brooklyn, another professional basketball team has quietly begun playing in the borough. The Brooklyn Wonders
, the American Basketball Association’s newest franchise, started up in November at Kingsborough Community College in Manhattan Beach.
Several members of the team are locals, from Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. The Wonderettes dance team leads cheers and a celebrity “13th man” will suit up (but not play) at each home game.
The Brooklyn Wonders is committed to offering affordable family fun. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children; there are also courtside seats for $22. Buy tickets and get directions at www.brooklynwonders.com
, or call (800) 514-3849. (Posted 12/06).
