With Halloween on the horizon, October is the perfect month to take an adventure to the farms and fields for a little pick-your-own family fun. Spend a day in the pumpkin patch and bring home gourds small and large for painting, carving, and cooking. Many of the locations listed here also offer corn mazes, hayrides, and tons of other fall activities.

Decker Farm

Pumpkin picking through October (weekends only starting Oct. 3, 11am-4pm). Self-guided tours and hayrides offered. Cornfield on-site. Free shuttle bus service available from the Historic Richmond Town parking lot to the farm. Admission: $5 per person or $16 for a family of four. Additional cost for pumpkins.
