Shakeh has been recognized by her colleagues and students as a creative and committed teacher. Her educational background includes an M.Ed. in secondary education, and an M.A. in educational leadership and administration, both from The George Washington University.

Dan Weir, Frost Valley�s director of camping services, thinks he has the best job in the world. He truly believes the world would be a different place if every child had a summer camp experience. Dan oversees Frost Valley YMCA�s resident camp, farm camp, and adventure trip programs that serve more than 2,300 children every summer. Dan also has 16 summers underneath his belt working at Frost Valley. In addition to being the director of camping services, he is finishing up his master�s degree at Stony Brook University specializing in youth and society.

This Kingdom for Kids offers quite a variety of adventures for young children. I?m Stacie Scollo, owner and director and I truly emphasize fun and imagination! Brian Crandall, a former science teacher, manages the Mad Science Camp programs in the Hudson Valley. He has 10 years of experience with this unique brand of science education. Children in Mad Science Camp programs participate in scientific explorations that are so much fun, they forget they?re learning! Summer 2010 topics include Robotics, Nature, NASA Journey into Outer Space, and Secret Agent Lab. They will also offer The Garden, an introduction to environmental science for pre-schoolers.
Master Maeang is the owner and director of Rockland's newest martial arts camp and studio. He is also a Rockland resident who is an active police officer and a combat tour veteran, USMC, having recently returned from serving our country in Iraq. He teaches traditional Korean martial arts in a way that is fun and exciting for kids. He's been working with children for over 25 years, specializing in techniques designed to build a child's self esteem and self control. Master Maeang also offers movie nights, sleep over parties and more.
For more than 30 years, Gail and Mark Doroff have created a special camp environment catering exclusively to the younger child (ages 2-7). Their outdoor program fosters growth in sports and swimming, arts and crafts, music and movement, a challenging climbing wall, zip line, and more. Gail and Mark hold degrees in education. Our directors have planned a fun-filled summer. The eight-week traditional camp focuses on children�s literature. Campers enjoy story time and crafts in our air-conditioned facility. Outdoor activities include daily swim lessons in our heated, non-chlorine pool, TGA Golf lessons, BC Hoops sports training, counselor-guided cooperative play, and free play on our school playground. Each week features a special event based on our weekly themes. In addition, we offer a Montessori summer academics camp program.
