From the Black Panther Party and the Puerto Rican Young Lords Party, to the surprising band of white allies who aided their causes, Professor Williams shares the history of this exciting period in American and Connecticut History.The lecture will be preceded by Connecticut filmmaker Karyl Evans' 9-minute documentary, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Connecticut.During the Civil Rights era, Dr. Martin Luther King visited a number of Connecticut towns including New Haven, Bridgeport and Middletown.
