Description: Children in grades 1-6 who struggle to learn to read require explicit, systematic instruction, targeted toward their specific areas of strength and weakness. Sheryl Knapp, M.Ed, CIT/AOGPE will describe the components of a comprehensive reading evaluation ? and their implications for providing each student with effective, individualized reading intervention. She will comment on specific instructional programs and methodologies, including suggestions on what to ask for and how to get appropriate support in school.
