   Halloween fun abounds around Fairfield County this year, with activities for kids of all ages. Here are a few of our favorites, but be sure to check out our full calendar for more spooky museums, parks, zoos, parades, and contests throughout Rockland, Westchester, Fairfield County, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens & Long Island!

 

 

Harvest Festival on Heckscher Farm, Stamford Museum and Nature CenterFall for Family Fun

   Take your pick of activities at the Harvest Festival on Heckscher Farm. Learn about harvesting crops and the techniques used to turn apples into cider, find out where linen comes from and how to dye wool, and see an antique tool demonstration. There will also be face painting, children's crafts, storytelling, live music, and more. October 18. 11am-4pm. All ages. $10, FREE ages 3 and under. Halloween Monster Mash, Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Norwalk, ConnecticutFright Night at the Museum

   Visit a spooky Stepping Stones Museum two weekends in October for the Halloween Monster Mash. Wear your costume and get lost in the new 1,400-square foot Halloween Maze, which is located outside in the Celebration Courtyard. Enjoy games, hands-on activities, storytelling, a dance party - and festive treats, of course. Curious about critters that come out at night? Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about nocturnal animals. October 16, 17, 23, 24. 6-8pm. All ages. $12, FREE under age 1. Call ext. 247 or go online for reservations. Beardsley Zoo's 2nd Annual Scarecrow Competition, Bridgeport, ConnecticutScare Up Some Fun

   See the different scarecrows that show up for the Beardsley Zoo's 2nd Annual Scarecrow Competition and decide which ones are outstanding in the field. Then vote for your favorites.
