This month, take a holiday from the holidays. The Stamford Museum & Nature Center invites you for a wintry stroll on Heckscher Farm, which is decked out in holiday cheer. Enjoy the woodland setting, visit the galleries, have a complimentary cup of hot cocoa, and take a walk down the luminary path. At 7pm, come to the Observatory to see “The Star of Bethlehem,” a scientific exploration of the possible astronomical explanations for that famous star. At 8pm, resident astronomer Charles Scovil will open up the Observatory deck for some great night viewing. Free. Fridays, December 5, 12, 19 and 26. 9am-7pm. Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. 203-322-1646. www.stamfordmuseum.org.
