Extreme Draw On! Family Day
Aldrich Art Museum, Ridgefield
Artists and budding artists will find multiple outlets for their creativity at Extreme Draw On! Family Day at the Aldrich Museum. Families can take mini workshops led by multiple artists, including those from the Maurice Sendak Foundation Fellowship. The galleries will offer many hands-on activities as well. Adding a mix of disciplines to the day's events, The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance performs exhibition-inspired choreography. FREE for children!
Where the Wild Things Run
Woodcock Nature Center, Wilton
Everyone in the family should put on their running shoes for Where the Wild Things Run. This annual fundraiser offers age-appropriate races for the young and not-so-young, with a 1K Kids Fun Run course and a more challenging and scenic route for the adults. Proceeds benefit the Woodcock Nature Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to nature and environmental education.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Presents 'Built to Amaze'
XL Center, Hartford
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus invites you to see exactly how the circus is put together in its new show, Built to Amaze. Circus machinery is removed from shipping crates and assembled right in front of the audience, who can learn circus skill tips and try on custom-designed circus costumes. Once the set is in place, performers from 17 different countries execute eye-popping feats of athleticism and bravery. Almost 100 exotic and domestic animals also show their talents, including Asia, the painting pachyderm.
Ugandan Children's Music Troup
Stepping Stones Museum, Norwalk
Stepping Stones Museum is committed to introducing young children to geography through its monthly Around the World Performance Series. This month, the museum transports visitors to Uganda when it hosts Abantu Mu Buntu Children's Music Troup, a group of young performers who share their culture through costumes, songs, and dance.

'Dance Across China'
The Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield
Students from Grace Reddy’s Tang Yun Dance School take the stage in Dance Across China to showcase the art and elegance of Chinese dance. All proceeds from this event benefit The Ridgefield Playhouse’s Arts for Everyone program, which offers free show tickets to families who otherwise would not be able to experience the performing arts.
African Drumming at the Natural Playground
Leonard Schine Preserve, Westport
Take your child on a spring adventure with the Aspetuck Land Trust, which hosts African Drumming at the Natural Playground. Children use all their senses as they walk through the woods and make observations. Spring on Heckscher Farm

Discover what goes on at the farm this time of year at Spring on the Farm. Meet the newest additions to Heckscher Farm, watch the sheep get their annual haircuts, and find out what the farm does with their wooly coats. There will be hands-on demonstrations and activities including storytelling, face painting, crafts, and a plant sale.
Meet Some Lorikeets

Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Norwalk

Travel back to the time when giants ruled the planet at Dinosaur Revolution. This exhibit takes visitors on a journey through the eras when dinosaurs lived and addresses your most pressing questions: Did T-Rex live closer in time to Apatosaurs or your mom? Were dinosaurs warm-blooded? This hands-on exhibit is complemented with daily drop-in programs that include crafts, improvisation, and play.
Community Memorial Day Picnic
Fairfield Museum and History Center, Fairfield
The sixth annual Community Memorial Day Picnic is a great way to unwind after watching or walking in the parade. Spread out a blanket and break out the picnic basket for lunch and activities on the Fairfield Museum’s historic green. Plan for high-spirited play such as three-legged races and water balloon games.
