Marymount Summer is a co-ed day camp celebrating over 30 years of summer enrichment for boys and girls in the heart of New York City. Marymount Summer offers a day camp, science camps, and drama camps, all of which include weekly field trips, outdoor play, and swim instruction. Camp runs for five weeks, from June 26 to July 28, 2017, and campers may register for individual weeks. The camp is housed at Marymount School of New York’s Fifth Avenue Campus, located directly across the street from Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Our youngest campers, ages 3.5-6, participate in World Cultures Day Camp, an inventive early childhood program that inspires creative play and encourages discovery. Campers will explore a different country every week, learning about the language, cuisine, art, culture, customs, and celebrations that make each nation unique and beautiful.
Rising K-1 students can choose between Cabaret Camp and Inventors & Explorers Camp. Inventors & Explorers Camp is perfect for the budding scientist who loves nature and animals, making and tinkering, building and construction, and robotics. Experienced science teachers introduce campers to the world of natural and physical science through hands-on field studies and experimentation in our state-of-the-art Fab Lab and science labs.
For children who love to sing, act, and dance, Cabaret Camp offers an exciting and fun-filled immersion into the creative and collaborative process of theater. Teaching artists lead campers in music and dance classes, exposing them to the joy and craft of musical theater. Campers must register for at least three weeks in order to prepare for a performance of show tunes at the end of the five-week session.
Students in rising grades 2-6 who love science, technology, engineering, art, and math should attend our STEAM Camp! Perfect for campers looking for a challenge, STEAM Camp is an innovative program that explores natural sciences, robotics, engineering, video game design, digital movie making, 3D printing, animation, and digital design.
Led by a team of professional teaching artists, Drama Camp is a creative and collaborative musical theater experience for budding thespians in rising grades 2-9. Campers study acting, improvisation, dance, music, and set and costume design. A field trip to see a Broadway musical, as well as a meeting and workshop with the cast, is also included. Campers must participate in at least four weeks of camp in order to prepare for the culminating performances during the final week.
