For this reason, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that all children have a complete eye exam by the age of 3. According to Douglas Freeley, M.D., pediatric ophthalmologist, any child who has eyes that don't seem to work well together, water frequently, seem cloudy or have difficulty seeing should be seen immediately.
