Description: Street artist Tranqui Yanqui (Spanish for "Chill American") is well known for his colorful art works and vibrant wearable art that merge American popular culture, Latin icons, and the tropical symbols of his native Miami.
Spend an afternoon with Yanqui exploring everyday objects and they ways you can give them a new sense of life. Participants will work with many materials, learning how to bring a pizza box, purple shoelaces, and even some Cheetos to life, ultimately creating a performance out of them. Using your imagination, you'll learn to think like an inanimate object, incorporating interesting dialogues and impromptu performances into a final project.
