W. 67th Street at Central Park West
Upper West Side, NY 10023
Description: This guided bike tour is the perfect way to enjoy the bucolic beauty of Central Park and some of New York's best sights. Wind your way through Central Park's iconic wonders, stopping to learn about the park's history and sites, including the little-known Conservatory Gardens and Harlem Meer. Continue to St. John the Divine, one of the world's most famous unfinished cathedrals, rivaling Europe's greatest, and enjoy its magnificent expanse. Stop at Columbia University for a look at the site used by so many directors for so many movies and TV shows. Ride into Riverside Park for a stop at Ulysses S. Grant's impressive memorial and your lunch break (lunches can be ordered from Bike and Roll when you make your reservation, and they consist of a locavore feast of cured meats and cheeses, bread, olives, jam, sweets, plus all the miscellaneous stuff you need to make a perfect picnic wrapped up in a souvenir cotton tote -- or you can bring your own). Continue on the Greenway along the Hudson River past ships and marinas before crossing the Upper West Side for your return to Central Park. Available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays only.
