Milkshake Rocks The Jewish Museum - The Jewish Museum
Add to Calendar 03-03-2013 03-03-2013 15 Milkshake Rocks The Jewish Museum This Baltimore-based Grammy-nominated kindie band is celebrating the release of their fifth studio CD, "Got a Minute?" with an all-ages show where they'll play old favorites along with an array of new songs. Here's more information from the press release: The groundbreaking, Baltimore-based kindie band Milkshake celebrates the March release of their fifth studio CD, "Got a Minute?," with an all-ages show at 2pm on Sunday, March 3 at The Jewish Museum, 1109 Fifth Ave. at 92nd St., NYC. Known for their pop-rock style that fairly crackles with energy and GRAMMY nominated for their 2009 album, Great Day, Milkshake's musical influences range from Julie Andrews and the Beatles to The White Stripes and Bo Diddley. At The Jewish Museum, the band will play old favorites like "Baseball" (where Milkshake has a mini ball game with the kids), "Fingers & Toes" (in which band member Michael "Shepp" Sheppard tries out his French), and "Bottle of Sunshine" (featuring the famous Milkshake Bottle of Sunshine), along with an array of new songs off the Got a Minute? CD. Milkshake is familiar to millions of American households through the band's playful, vibrant music videos, which have been seen on PBS KIDS, Nick Jr. and Discovery Kids. Milkshake's live concerts, described by the Baltimore Sun as "a little like magic," bring the same happy, rocking energy onstage to fans across the country. Got a Minute? is the first new Milkshake CD since the band's 2009 GRAMMY nominated Great Day. The new album was inspired by a series of thirteen brief musical gems -- each just a minute or so in length -- that Milkshake wrote for PBS KIDS in 2006. Challenged and excited by how much artistic punch could be packed into such a short amount of time, Milkshake has expanded on that concept in Got a Minute? -- an album that includes those original PBS KIDS songs, plus 20 more quick hitting "Milkshake miniatures," most of which clock in at two minutes or less. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2014neweventinfo.cfm?id=129273 The Jewish Museum true DD/MM/YYYY
