Next Stop: North Pole - Manhattan

  |  Holiday Activities

New York has its own version of the Polar Express. The New York Transit Museum’s 7th Annual Holiday Train Show offers its version of what the journey by train to Santa’s workshop would be like from Grand Central Station. Eight loops of track wrap around a 34-foot long replica of New York City decked out for the holidays, and extend out to the country, with bus, subway and gas stations along the way. New this year are models of MetroNorth’s M7 train, which runs on an elevated track, and the subway R27 train on the lower level. Through January 19.  Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm; Saturday-Sunday, 10am-6pm. Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. New York Transit Museum Manhattan Gallery Annex and Store, Grand Central Terminal, 42nd Street and Park Avenue, Manhattan. 212.878-0106. www.mta.info.
