Children with learning differences can become more organized self-directed learners when they understand their thinking, feelings, and how they learn. At the TIEL Institute we focus on thinking and social emotional processes that form the foundation of learning. Using school assignments and projects, children learn to focus and reflect on information, make connections to what they already know, plan and carry out projects, and learn how to think logically as well as creatively. Gifted, ADHD, grades 4?8.

BACK TO SCHOOL
Is your middle-grade child feeling the pressure of increased workload? Struggling with complex assignments and projects? Need help with expanded basic skills? All of these require high levels of thinking and self-management skills and contribute to the academic stress felt by children in grades 3-8. TIEL, Teaching for Intellectual and Emotional Learning, is a framework that helps students understand their thinking and learning, develop self-management skills, and organize their assignments. TIEL helps students gain control over their learning and their school work, helping them feel better about themselves as learners.
