Located on the beautiful LIU Post campus, Performing Arts Academy at LIU Tilles Center features many large buildings with air-conditioned classrooms, ideal stages and our grand LIU Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. The Performing Arts Academy is a three week program from July 29 – August 16 for campers interested in music. Major Performing Groups include Junior Band or Chorus Grades 5-8 or Senior Band or Chorus Grades 9-12.  Campers receive daily a sectional lessons and elective classes such as Fine Art, Drum Circles, Dance, Musical Theatre, Jazz Band, Music Theory, Vocal Jazz, Brass and Woodwind Ensembles and Guitar Ensemble.  We also have our Youth Chorus for campers in grades 1 – 4.  The will have one hour of chorus along with investigating instruments, drum circles, fine art, dance and recreation.

CAMPS-SPECIALTY

MEET THE DIRECTOR
Nickolette Kacharaba has been a part of the LIU Post Youth Camps since 2003. She became executive director of youth programs in 2011. An alumna of LIU Post, she earned an M.S. in music education and an Advanced Certificate in educational leadership. In her 17 years as a dedicated music teacher and camp administrator, she has helped countless youth thrive and grow throughout Long Island. The second season of the Performing Arts Academy at LIU Tilles Center offers band and chorus with many different electives and lessons to choose from. The program challenges all of its campers to achieve their highest level of musicianship.
