    APPLE AND PUMPKIN PICKING: The Orchards folks anticipate that Red Delicious will be ready for harvesting this weekend. McIntosh, Cortlands and Macouns may also still be available. Pumpkins may be ready as well. Children's activities including a mini-maze, giant slide, haunted house and other amusements start at 12pm. 10am. Age: All.     HALLOWEEN HIGH TEA: The library hosts a special pre-Halloween party just for moms. Ancient Celts celebrated their New Year on October 31, when the veil between the seen and unseen world was at its thinnest. On that night, spells were cast and games were played to predict the future. Join Elizabeth Knight, author of Celtic Tea Traditions, and learn how Celtic customs influenced our Halloween celebrations. Pre-registration is required. 12pm. Age: AD. FREE.     WALKING TOUR: OAK HILL CEMETARY:
    Oak Hill Cemetery is burial site of Edward Hopper, Helen Hayes, Charles MacArthur, Carson McCullers and others in art world; a Union general who convinced President Lincoln to create black fighting regiments during the Civil War; the fashion designer who made pants an acceptable form of women's dress; an outspoken minister and headmaster of the Rockland Female Institute who was an advocate for women's suffrage and an opponent of slavery; Confederate veterans and others. 2pm.     HALLOWEEN 'DRESS REHEARSAL' PARTY:
    Disney Store offers young princesses and superheroes a chance to get in the Halloween spirit a little early and show off their costumes. Guests can join in special games to win prizes and participate in a costume parade around the store. Kids age three and up in costume will receive a free gift (while supplies last). 3:30pm. Age: All.     Children can collect ravens' beaks and dragon scales on a scavenger hunt that concludes at the gift shop with a special prize. The spooky journey continues with mannequins that come to life, a haunted house and fortunetellers. Then take a hayride down to the back road where bone-chilling creatures lurk. 6-9pm.
