    Halloween fun abounds around Brooklyn this October, with activities for families and kids of all ages. Here are a few of our favorites!

    It's Trick or Treat Time!

       Halloween fun abounds around Brooklyn this year, with activities for kids of all ages. Here are a few of our favorites, but be sure to check out our full calendar for more spooky museums, parks, zoos, parades, and contests throughout Rockland, Westchester, Fairfield County, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens & Long Island!

     

    A Fishy Halloween

       Come in costume and celebrate Halloween at the A-Scarium, as you learn about sea monsters, make arts and crafts, and enjoy a variety of activities. October 24-25, noon-4pm. $13; $9 children, FREE under age 3. New York Aquarium, Surf Avenue and West 8th Street, Coney Island. 718-265-FISH. www.nyaquarium.com.

      

    Celebration in the Park

       The annual Halloween Festival in Fort Greene Park features a cornucopia of activities for children and parents including hayrides, face painting, children's music, dance, games and prizes, plus live entertainment - all culminating in a children's costume parade. October 31 beginning at noon. All ages. FREE. Fort Greene Park, Dekalb Avenue and Cumberland. 718-522-6670. www.fortgreenepark.org.

      

    More Fun in the Park

       Take your chances with the ghouls and goblins lurking within the trees during this Haunted Walk and Carnival. Young children should be accompanied by an adult. Then head over to the carnival on the Nethermead and enjoy games, activities, and treats. October 31. The fun begins at noon. All ages. FREE. Prospect Park, Lefferts Historic House. 718-965-8999. www.prospectpark.org.

     

    Boo at the Zoo, Bronx ZooA Wild Halloween

       Celebrate the holiday in a big way with Boo at the Zoo. Visit the resident bats, cats, and slimy creatures and then go on the Haunted Safari, through a bat cave, the belly of a snake, and a rainforest swamp. Go on the musical Scarecrow Adventure Hayride and then see animal-themed magic shows.  Annie and the Natural Wonder band will belt out the tunes and the Wildlife Theater Players will perform an interactive, musical puppet show.  Experts will be on hand to create animal shapes out of pumpkins too. Children who wear wildlife costumes get free admission when accompanied by an adult paying full-priced admission. October 10-11, 17-18, 24-25 and Oct 31-Nov 1, 10am-5:30pm.
