This includes Brooklyn's earliest Native American settlements, the men and women who fought in the Revolutionary War on Brooklyn's shores, Brooklynites who worked to abolish slavery, immigrants from all over the world who made Brooklyn home, and the women who kept America going by working in the Brooklyn Navy Yard during World War II.

    Open Boat Tours - The Waterfront Museum

    Come aboard the 1914 Lehigh Valley Barge #79, a floating museum and houseboat aboard the last remaining covered wooden barge. The exhibition, "Showboat-'Round the Bend" traces the history of the tug and barge "Lighterage Era" and showcases how food and comerical goods were transported before today's bridges and tunnels. A clown and juggler tell the story of the rescue of Barge # 79 and a bunny mascot roams about.

    Photographic portraits of Tibetan people by renowned contemporary artist Phil Borges are featured. Families can view interactive displays focusing on aspects of traditional Tibetan culture, including a map of Tibet’s changing borders, a moveable display of Himalayan Mountains, audio recordings of mantra chanting, and a hands-on display of Tibetan prayer wheels.
