Based on Motomasa's Japanese musical drama Sumidagawa and translated to a Christian parable by librettist William Plomer, Curlew River tells the tale of a woman searching for her missing son. Premiered in 1937 and inspired by Irish playwright John Millington Synge's tragedy of the same name, Riders to the Sea examines an elderly woman's fears of losing her remaining sea-faring sons Very limited seating FREE tickets available 12/3
