Description: Come see the annual mating ritual of the horseshoe crabs as they come ashore to lay eggs. Checkout the shorebirds such as red knots, sanderlings, and ruddy turnstones that feed on the eggs. Learn about the history, ecology, and scientific value of these ancient crabs. Meet Tour Leaders Mickey Cohen and Don Riepe, at the Visitor Center, and then carpool to the ball field beach at the South End of Broad Channel.
