Olympic-Elmo

The opening ceremony of the XXII Olympics kicks off the Winter Games on Friday, Feb. 7 in Sochi, Russia, but there’s plenty of local Olympic fun to be had right here in our area. Cheer on U.S. women's hockey player Julie Chu (a Fairfield, CT native) and other hometown heroes who are representing the U.S. in Sochi. To make the games more accessible to younger fans, Elmo and his friends on Sesame Street are partnering with Team USA to provide kid-friendly coverage of the contests. Check out our Olympic Special for details on more family fun during and after the games.

Family-Taking-A-Walk

As much as we prepare, there's no way parents can anticipate the enormity of love we’ll feel for our kids. Suddenly, when they come into your life, kids hold your whole heart; they make you happy and frustrated, energized and exhausted, and nothing is more devastating than the thought of being without them. Sadly, for some parents, unexpected events will take us away from our little ones. But we can make sure they will never be without love or the other things they need by planning ahead. As you plan for child's needs think about finances, health care, and, of course, who'll be your child's guardian. To make this hard thing a little easier, we spoke with an expert and gathered the best advice on estate planning for parents.
