Description: Parents can teach their children about sustainability by modeling green behaviors like composting. Simply bring your food scraps including fruit and vegetable scraps like peels, skins, or seeds), coffee grounds (including the paper filter), tea bags, eggshells, nutshells, plain bread, and pasta (no toppings) to the weekly food waste drop off location. The Western Queens Compost Initiative will turn the rest of your food waste into a nutrient-rich compost.
