Description: Celebrate the season in concert with The Story of Christmas - the night that chagned the world for ever. Enjoy some of the most beautiful carols ever written for the classical choir. This performance features some of the finest voices in the tri state area, with a symphony orchestra bringing Public Television's winner of the 2010 Best Holiday Program back to New York.
In addition, each performance will open with a showing of �JACOB�S GIFT�, an award winning short on Jacob Riis and the origin of Christmas Caroling in America. This short was researched and produced by the Aquinas Society of The Immaculate Conception School in Jamaica Estates, NY.
There will be an optional Holiday dinner($30) available at 4:30pm for those who wish to make it a complete day of great food and music. Reservations are recommended. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Josephine Foundation.
The Josephine Foundation is an organization, founded in 2002 and incorporated in 2004 that believes by using arts and sports programs, young people and adults can reach for their dreams regardless of their background and financial status. The Foundation mission believes that properly operated and disciplined Sports and Arts programs, give people the tools to process the information of today�thus allowing them to Follow Their Dreams. In its 12 years of existence, The Josephine Foundation has provided over 1.7 million dollars in grants and services to those programs that fall within their mission statement. In addition, the Foundation uses its performing arts projects to raise funds and support 501(c) (3) charities providing support for medical, quality of life and disaster relief throughout the world.
