Long Island City, NY
Description: The public is invited to come rake leaves in the park between 11am and 1pm. It's called Leaf Fest and will take place rain or shine. All leaves collected will be composted and used to help fertilize parks, gardens and community plots. This process can enrich soils, help clean up contaminated soil, prevent pollution and offer economic benefits. Rainey Park is a riverside promenade and a popular spot for picnicking and play.
